It is an annual competition open to young people across the world who have completed a short piece of adventure writing in English.

11 and under - £100 plus £160 book tokens for your school

"Stories may be set between today and the year 2200, and show a path to clean, green, and just future. We especially want to read - and share - narratives that center solutions from the communities most impacted by climate change and stories that envision what a truly equitable, decolonized society could look like.
We're are also especially interested in cultural authenticity (a deep sense of place, customs, and more); rich characters with interesting identities; and stories that challenge the status quo in which wealth and power are built on extraction, oppression, and violence."

"The top 15 Foyle winners are invited to attend a week's residential creative writing course at a prestigious Arvon centre or receive alternative mentoring, such as a poet residency in their school. All 100 winners will receive a year's Youty Membership of the Poetry Society, a range of books and other prizes. The winners will also benefit from ongoing support and encouragement from the Poetry Society, via publication, performance, promotion and access to a paid internship programme."
